To automatically deploy the client software by using Group Policy

1.In the folder that contains the files Microsoft_Intune_Setup.exe and MicrosoftIntune.accountcert, run the following command to extract the Windows Installer-based installation programs for 32-bit and 64-bit computers:
Microsoft_Intune_Setup.exe /Extract <destination folder>

2.Copy the Microsoft_Intune_x86.msi file, the Microsoft_Intune_x64.msi file, and the MicrosoftIntune.accountcert file to a network location that can be accessed by all computers to which the client software is to be installed.

Note :

Do not separate or rename the files or the client software installation will fail.
3.Use Group Policy to deploy the software to computers on your network.


As we all know that Intune has gained a lot of buzz during recent past . Today , We will discuss about How do we install Client Intune Agent on Computers .

Client Computer Management in Intune 

There are two ways by which you can do this :

1 . Manually : Here you will have to download the Intune Client Software and then Install It . Please make sure that only one client agent can be installed on one computer , either SCCM Client or Intune . If you already have SCCM Client agent installed you won’t be able to install Intune Client .

 

2. Automatically : You can use software Distribution Programs for this .

How to Manually Install Intune Client on Computer :

First of all you need to download the Client Agent Which can be downloaded from the Intune Portal :

Once Downloaded you need to run the set up

After the Installation is Complete you will see the Client Computer Showing up in the Intune Console like this :

After the Initial Hardware Inventory Cycle you will be able to see Hardware related Information related to this Computer as Shown :

New features in Attachments in Office 565 Exchange Online :

Microsoft has started to released New Office 365 Feature starting October  – New Way to share files with Outlook Web app. Most of you must have noticed it and would like to know more about this new Feature .

Here is what you see when you try to attach file to an Email in Outlook Web app in Office 365 .

So now you can attach a file from your Computer or from OneDrive

f you choose to attach a file currently stored on your hard drive and select Share with OneDrive, the file automatically uploads to your OneDrive for Business in a folder called Email Attachments.

When you send a file via OneDrive, the attachment appears the same as if the file was attached in the traditional manner, except there is a cloud icon within the file icon , and you will see under the file title the permissions that will be granted to recipients.

 

You also Edit / Manage the Permission of the File ( see below )

Also, When you share a file as Onedrive it will be attached as a normal file except for that it will have a Cloud picture on it .

Today in this Post we will  talk about the installation  of Vmware Vcenter 5.5 step by step . Somehow , I found that there was a lack of a simple guide on Installing Vcenter. Basically Vcenter offers two  types of installation .One is Simple and other is Customized. If you opt for Simple  installation then the set up will  install all the Mandatory components itself and if you  opt for Customized Installation then  you will  have to install  each  component manually.

In this post here we will talk about Runbooks and how to create a Sample Runbook.

Lets  first open up Orchestrator and then create a New Folder : Screen Shot below:

Once Folder is  clicked , then name it the way you want . I named it Abheek

The runbook I am going to create is a  simple runbook which  will  start a service if at all it finds its being in stopped state .

from the right pane , drag and drop  Get Service  status onto the middle pane:

Once this is done , we need to configure the get  service thing:

Just double click it  and then fill in the below information (computer name and the service name)

Once  this is done , drag and drop start  stop service activity  from right pane and link two :

Double click on the arrow between the two activities to get the status of Service and enter below:

Once you  get the status ,  click on start /stop  activity and then click on start:

A few Days back , I was working on Installing SCORCH on Windows 2012 box . As a Prerequisite I had to Install .NEt Framework 3.5 on the server and While I tried to Install it using Server Manager it gave me Error Every time ( As Shown Below )

After a little thought process I found this Solution to the problem .

Enter the Windows 2012 Disc and then Enter the Following Command as an Admin ( You Might get an Error if you try to Execute the Command Using Normal User stating that Elevated User Rights are Required )

 

dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /all /Source:drive Name :\sources\sxs /LimitAccess

The Drive Name should be the Name of the Drive where you Windows CD is :

After you execute the command :

DISM Execution

 

Now , ON the Ass Server Roles Window Click on Specify an Alternate Source Path and then Enter the same path there (drive Name :\sources\sxs )

 

Install the .NET Framework 3.5 and the issue is solved .
